Nice work here- learned a couple of things. I work from home, so there is that. When I go out, typically it's to visit a restaurant or hit Publix, I carry a small bag with me. Have 'bout half of what you listed. FYI, I have a Rock Island BBR in 45acp, 3.5 inch.
I didn’t realize they made the Baby Rock in .45acp, thought it was only 9mm. I like it. Curious, if you don’t mind my asking, how I helped or what you learned?
Your specificity, along with the pictures was what made an impression. That convinced me to subscribe. Sometimes youtube videos are a bother, in that the presenter drones on and on with saying much- just filling time. I like how you were sparce with your words, presented pictures and kept everything concise.
THanks, I really appreciate the feedback. Feel free to drop me notes, ask questions, provide feedback. PS I agree about YouTube. I don't need 25 minutes of explaining WHY I should have this bag with me before we ever get to what's in the bag.
Right?! Lol...Thank you Sir...btw, I recently scaled back my 90 minutes of reading news with my coffee in the morning. Now I just hit 2 news sites (Instapundit and The Epoch Times), then catch up with feeds like yours and the other subscriptions...priorities!
that's close to my morning .... Instapundit, Wall Street Journal, browse Substack feeds, and then work. I really do appreciate the subscription and aim to bring value. So let me know on that front.
I can vouch for Starlink. I had the antenna installed on my roof and the speed is orders of magnitude above the Frontier landline crap that was the only other thing offered in this (semi rural) area.

just looked. I really like the bill in one month increments feature. I think the gear can fit in a regular backpack or be in a pack in my vehicle, which is why I’ve been seriously considering it as part of my setup.
The incremental billing makes sense…this isn’t a 24/7/365 system like the regular Starlink ones. Used as required and I could have used it in the Western US and in Alaska on trips into the interior of AK. Wish I had the list of stuff our Life Support guys in the 18th TFS were able to stuff into the ACESII seat kit. It was about the same amount of volume as your day pack but it had enough in it to keep us alive in the AK bush in the middle of winter for days. The coolest item was a -20F sleeping bag they vacuum packed into a brick-sized plastic wrapper. You had to stand on it to pull the opening tab it was so well-miniaturized. The second most important item was a bee keepers hat…for mosquitoes.
I’ve got a “go bag” with that sort of load in it. If Rainier blows its top, it takes me about 10 minutes to load the 4Runner and toss my wife and I in it. Go bags, rifles, etc

Haven’t tried myself, but if I were embarking on a major trip, I’d seriously consider it.

But I would love to have the sort of gear setups we had in the military. Our Combat Lifesaver bags were serious medical setups, for example.

You gonna describe that go-bag sometime?
I will be doing that eventually. ….. basics, though, is 2 days clothing, 4 days survival food, ammo, sleeping bag, gear for rough camping.
